Goodbye from Rocketgraph

There is no easy way to say this but we will be shutting down over the next few days.

Two years ago, we set out to create Rocketgraph. Our dream was to replace boring graphs and difficult to use tools, with quick, easy to create and understand visualisations.

We came far but we also faced many challenges. We gave it our all, but regret to announce that it is time to say goodbye. Rocketgraph will be shutting down on May 6.

Please note, that we have already started refunding the users that were on the annual plan, and we recently cancelled all subscriptions.

Thank you for your support and for sharing this journey with us.

7 Best Youtube Practices

Dear Youtuber,

Youtube exists for more than 11 years now and there has been more than 820 million hours of videos uploaded on this platform since the day it launched.

Probably your channel is interesting, but this is certainly not enough!

You need to find ways to stand out between the hundreds of thousands of youtubers who are constantly uploading content on Youtube.

And here are some tips on what you need to do in order to acquire views and really engaged subscribers.

Tip 1
The content

Your content needs to be catchy, different and to satisfy a need people have, or create one. A video is pretty much resembling to a product or a service. People watch videos on Youtube to listen to music, to be informed about world news, to learn how to do something (tutorials), to laugh and entertain themselves. So each of these videos could be compared to a product (cd, music track, newspaper, movie) or a service (teaching). Make sure that your video has something interesting and useful to give to the viewers, otherwise people will probably not become so engaged.

Tip 2
Make a good first impression

Various studies have concluded that the first 15 seconds of a video are those that actually determine whether the viewer will watch your entire video or not. Do your best to make a fabulous beginning in your video and your subscriber’s engagement rate will rise. In order to make the first 15’’ interesting, you can do the following:

  • Have an animated introduction which will be like your trademark. It builds trust and interest to the viewer.
  • Include a short preview of what this video is about. For some people it is very important as they see that your are well organised and specific.
  • Make a teaser announcement on the beginning of the video, in order to catch your viewers’ attention and make them watch the whole video.

Tip 3
If you fail to prepare, prepare to fail

Have your script prepared. To be prepared is half of your success. Provoking people’s interest exclusively by your spontaneous spirit and script is a little too hard to achieve. If you don’t have your script written somewhere, at least you need to have the pinpoints of what you want to say on your video. Of course, it is always easy to edit your video, so don’t be anxious about the script. Just use it as a “helping hand” in order to have a well organised video with a certain flow.

Tip 4
Include Calls to Action

Add calls to action to encourage your viewers to subscribe to your channel or explore it in order to watch more of your videos. Make sure you add at least one call to action in every video, but don’t do it too much because this will make your viewers deactivate the annotations from your video or stop watching it! You can add a call to action as a button/annotation that pops up during your video or in the form of a short clip at the end or the beginning of your video.

Here is an example of Smosh (22m subscribers). At the end of the video the are calls to action through a subscribe button and links to other similar videos by Smosh.

Tip 5
Interact with your viewers

This is a very important part of your communication with your existing and potential subscribers. You can answer to the questions your fans make in the comments by making another video, solely for the purpose of Q&A. You can also create videos to discuss about funny or clever comments your viewers made in the last videos. Here is a perfect example by John Oliver.

Remember not to respond to “haters” with hatred, just the way John Oliver does. You can either ignore them or respond to them with a humoristic approach. This will certainly make your followers love you even more.

Tip 6
Do keyword research & post with a schedule

Conduct a detailed research in order to find which keywords and tags you should include in the description of your videos. You should find the words that will most probably attract people to watch your videos and put those words in your title or/and your description. Don’t forget that you should not upload videos too often but also not too seldom. You need to post regularly but be careful not to overwhelm your subscribers, otherwise you might easily lose them.

Tip 7
Track your progress

Last but not least, you should track your progress. You should read behind the numbers. After the publishing of your last video has your popularity risen or fallen? Which is your top video and what is it about? Maybe you should try to make something else on the same topic, in order to attract more subscribers. To use your analytics for your advantage and grow your audience you can use a free and easy to use tool offered by Rocketgraph, YouTube Channelytics.

8 essential tips for a successful Facebook page

A Facebook page is the most direct way to communicate with your existing and prospective clients. There is an immediate connection between the page admin and the page’s fans mostly through Facebook chat. Additionally, it is the best way for a business to appear every now and then in the everyday life of a fan; through the timeline posts.

Step 1

Choose the best appearance for your page.

Name, vanity url, profile photo, cover photo. They need to be short, precise and catchy if possible. Don’t use an irrelevant cover photo because it looks good; try to choose the best profile and cover photo in order to create a good appearance for your page but in the same time the photos have to refer to your website or your page’s objective in a discrete way.

Step 2

Take full advantage of the About section.

Don’t underestimate it. The About section is where people go to find out more about your business. Make sure you write a detailed description providing all the necessary info about what you do. It is essential that you take full advantage of this small but powerful section and provide a hyperlink to your webpage.

Step 3

Fill in all the info Facebook asks you.

Even if you think it’s not useful for your fans, the section that includes Category, Topics, Mission, Foundation year, Awards etc. is a good way to increase your rank in search engines. Just make sure you are using the correct keywords and don’t leave all this information blank!

Step 4

Don’t stop posting.

Create a content calendar and be sure that you post regularly. Make sure, however, that you don’t post too often, otherwise your audience might be overwhelmed and, eventually, annoyed. Depending on your content you could post between 5 times a day to once every 5 days. The important thing is to keep posting -even in a low frequency- so that the client is always aware of your presence.

Step 5

Upload posts that praise your business.

Is there a client who messaged you to thank you because your service was too good? Is there a blogger who featured your work because he/she found it exceptional? It doesn’t matter if the person who loves your business is famous or not. Do not miss the opportunity to promote this love and of course, thank your fan in public! This will only bring you more and more fans and make those who already love your work to love it even more.

Step 6

Tag other businesses or pages on your post.

Don’t forget to tag other pages, or people on your posts. It increases the visibility of your post and boosts the interaction of your fans.

Step 7

Post content that fits your fans’ profiles.

It’s essential that your content varies depending always on your audience’s age, ethnicity, language and special hobbies. Try to adjust your posts in order to attract your fans’ interest, using insights and analytics provided through Facebook or other tools.

Step 8

Stay in touch with your fans.

Always respond to your messages and provide immediate and useful customer support. Make sure you are friendly to the person you talk to and try to respond more as an individual than as a “Facebook page”.

Finally, make sure that your friends and family are constantly promoting and supporting your business. It’s extremely helpful if there is a group of people who regularly share your updates and react to your posts; it shows that you have a loyal fanbase.

We are excited to announce the launch of our updated website.  As a young startup, we love speaking to our users and getting as much feedback as possible. The revamped website is 100% based on feedback we received from you, our users.

One of the major improvements is our pricing scheme. Instead of having different prices per report, now you are able to choose between different plans. Each plan gives you access to a different number of subscriptions to the reports available in the marketplace.

What does that mean?

We have 4 different plans.

Free Plan: you will always have access to one report for free!

Starter plan: you can enjoy up to 3 subscriptions for only $15 per month.

Professional plan: is perfect for agencies and companies with multiple cloud service accounts. For only $49 per month you get access to unlimited subscriptions.

Enterprise plan: this plan offers premium features such as White Labeling the marketplace, custom reports and dedicated support

You can review the plan in detail here: https://rocketgraph.com/pricing
